Concrete-filled steel tube has already been applied to various types of engineering practice. The beam-column joints, as the hinge of force transferring, should be simple for structure, easy to fabricate and convenient for site operation. In the field of the high-rise buildings, more and more people go after architectural style, which realized by combining or separating columns. The bifurcated column usually has big size and irregular shape, which make it complex and inconvenient to construction. Therefore, it is important to develop a new type of joint which is safe, reliable, simple and also can satisfy the requirement of complex modeling. This paper mainly discusses a new type of concrete-filled steel tube bifurcated column-steel beam joint, which adopted in the China mobile communications group co., LTD., Hainan scheduling command center, so as to enable the new joint form can be more widely and safely used in practice. This paper may analyze the joint by using the calculation model for the whole project and ABAQUS finite element analysis software.After loading analysis by choosing 6 kinds of the most unfavorable combination through 49 kinds of load design combination which in the calculation model, the joint model is basically at the elastic stage. The overall performance for the model is good, which meet the design requirements. Joint under the effect of different load design combination has enough safety reserve. As the joint core is still in the elastic stage when the joint is damaged, it reflects the "strong node, weak components" design principle.Then this paper mainly analyzes the seismic performance of the joint. By applying low reversed cyclic loading, the hysteresis curve is very full, the ductility factor and equivalent viscous damping coefficients show that it has good plastic deformation capacity, ductility and energy dissipation capacity. The joint can meet the requirement of aseismic design. Its destruction form can also reflect that the joint is in accordance with the design principle of "strong node, weak components".In the end, the paper discusses the seismic performance of the joint in structure based on the result of Push-over. After analysis, the joint shows good seismic performance in the X and Y direction under strong earthquakes.The new type of concrete-filled steel tube bifurcated column-steel beam joint is safe, reliable, simple, convenient for construction. Wish that it can be widely used through the study of this paper and after the further research.
