Abstract/Summary:
Photovoltaic array simulator is a kind of experiment testing DC power source,its output characteristic of U-I should emulale the real solar array,which mostly used for evaluating the power conditionning units’ working performance during the research and development phase of photovoltaic generation system and space craft PCU.In simple terms,photovoltaic array simulator could be a power supply to test any DC load of the semiconductor solar cells or array,to test these loads’ ability of acquisition energy by simulating the electric characteristics changing caused by the working tmeperature and solar light intensity change.Further more the simulators can even predict the loads’ working life by the aging test.In this paper, the working characteristics of solar cells were studied, and the mathematical model of solar cells and the modeling method of solar cell were introduced with the aid of literature data, At the same time, the solution of hardware and software of the solar cell output U-I characteristic curve is verified, which lays the foundation for the design of the PV array simulator.Aiming at the performance characteristics of the simulator, a high dynamic current source is designed as the main power of the simulator. In the process of the current source design, introduced the stability analysis of operational amplifier circuit, using saber simulation environment simulate the main power circuit made the frequency domain analysis, and on this basis, choose OPAMP compensation scheme. After the main power scheme have been determined, to ensure the simulator have as high dynamic response as possible, selected a hardware method to generate the solar cell U-I characteristic reference curve, this method is a voltage and current dual loop control circuit with a exponential operation amplifier circuit.At last, a model of the solar array simulator have been built in the saber simulator environment and the model’s dynamic response、static U-I characteristic、power expansion of series structure have been analyzed, verified the theoretical feasibility of the simulator. And then, I built the hardware platform of the simulator. After the working performance test, the result proved that this solar array simulator meet the requirements of research.
