Abstract/Summary:
Signal intersections are the major source of traffic jam. Therefore they are the focus of the research objects to alleviate traffic jam, and left-turning traffic is the key point for problem solving in signal intersections. Lots of the vehicles that need to turn left fail to change lanes timely far away from the intersections, and they have to change lanes near the intersections. This kind of lane-changing behavior interferes with the smooth running of vehicles and causes potential safety hazard for traffic. So it’s necessary to study this behavior to manage it.Collect the speed, acceleration, lane-changing time and lane-changing location of the lane-changing vehicles through video processing software. Analysis the driving performance of mandatory lane-changing behaviors and the influences of various factors on distance, time and speed of lane-changing vehicles. Contrastively analysis the distinctions between mandatory lane-changing behaviors and free lane-changing behaviors. Fully describe mandatory lane-changing behaviors with these researches. There are obvious conflicts between mandatory lane-changing vehicles and back vehicles at the target lane. A non-cooperative mixed strategy game model of mandatory lane-changing vehicles and back vehicles is established on the game theory, and the mixed strategy Nash equilibrium is acquired to guide the both sides to make decisions. Game benefits include time benefits, safety benefits and lane-changing benefits. Then use the lane-changing distance to represent the lane-changing behavior, and use the method of fuzzy logic to establish the forecast model of lane-changing distance according to the most obviously related factors with lane-changing distance. The model can be used on judgment and choice of lane-changing distance Compare and test the model predicted value, the actual value and the linear regression forecasted value. Extend the model according to the relationship between time, speed and distance.Research the influences on traffic efficiency of mandatory lane-changing behaviors on the basis of queue theory and kinematics theory. The influences on the efficiency mainly refer to the delay of lane-changing vehicles and back vehicles at target lane. Research the influences on traffic safety of mandatory lane-changing behaviors on the basis of Traffic Conflict Technique. Define the mandatory lane-changing conflict and conflict severity. And divide conflict into no-conflict, slight conflict, general conflict and serious conflict. In order to decrease and avoid the bad influences of these behaviors, propose a direction arrow setting method based on the maximum queue length of intersection to remind vehicles to change lanes ahead of time. And then analysis saturated and unsaturated state in detail. Propose monitoring and punishing measures for risk mandatory lane-changing behaviors based on game theory to constraint the decisions of lane-changing.
