The competition for air supremacy in modern warfare is quite intense. Remote air missile which has the BVR attack capability is an effective weapon in the fight for air supremacy. None single form of guidance and seeker can meet the requirements of the long-range combat. So we must take the compound guidance system, which contains a mid-course phase that can extend the shooting range. In this paper, the question of compound guidance method without data link to be considered.Firstly the principle of compound guidance system and the coordinates was introduced. How the SINS works was also mentioned. To keep the carrier aircraft safe, the data link between the missile and the carrier is canceled, the missile fly to the prediction handover point(PHP) independently. So it is necessary to ensure the accuracy of the target motion state estimation. The Interacting Multiple Model method(IMM) was considered which could estimate the target motion state accurately. So that the PHP could be calculated more accurately. The influence of target maneuver on the acquisition probability was also discussed.Secondly, After the PHP being calculated, the missile needs to get to the PHP along the desired line of sight as soon as possible. For this the PI guidance law was proposed. When the missile get to the PHP, the seeker boots, and search the target, for the moment the seeker finds the target, the homing guidance command could be calculated. The method of the shift between mid-course guidance command and the homing guidance command was considered, by which the acceleration of missile transform smoothly. And the reasonableness and accuracy of the handover algorithm was also proved. The analytical expression of the acquisition probability was deduced, several factors which affect the acquisition probability were analyzed. And the influence of the inertial element error was considered too.At last, the whole trajectory simulations were proposed combining with the principle in midcourse and terminal guidance handing-over phase, which could verify the algorithm of the PHP calculation, PI guidance law, the handover algorithm, and the acquisition probability algorithm. The acquisition probabilities in different initial conditions were calculated, the factors which have the influence on the acquisition probability were considered.
