Commercial pedestrian street is the product of urban development. It refers to the city’s economy, polity, culture and other levels, also, the evolution of the commercial pedestrian street shows that the urban development’s trajectory. Among all the aspects, landscape design highlights its important position in the pursuit of commercial pedestrian street’s quality and spirit. But under the situation of the economic effect expanding, the commercial pedestrian street come out all kinds of jumbly products. In order to alleviate the phenomenon of “thousand street sideâ€, the expression of regionalism have mushroomed in the practice of the commercial pedestrian street landscape. However, the understanding and interpretation are still be biased, showing a lack of dialectical view and critical spirit. This study based on the view of critical regionalism, by summing up the existing theories about city commercial pedestrian street landscape design, through the present expression problems of the regionalism in commercial pedestrian street as a starting point and combining the critical regionalism landscape design methods of the series of “Shuion†commercial pedestrian street in-depth research analysis to build the simple application system which critical regionalism can be used in urban commercial pedestrian street landscape design, so as to be an accurate guidance and reference in urban commercial pedestrian street landscape design.Specific research process of this topic:(1) starting from my own research inteasts, through the systematic collection, induction, sorting documents and combining with the instance, selecting the research topic;(2)in fully understanding of city commercial pedestrian street development models and characteristics, to make research of the city’s commercial pedestrian street landscape design’s current situation and problems, getting suitable perspective and defining the concept of related content, then proposing the research framework;(3)based on the theory of critical regionalism, regionalism, design and context, history updating, exploring the article from city pedestrian street landscape design’s nature, humanities and technology three aspects to review and analysis the imbalances of the city commercial pedestrian street’s regionalism expression, and laying the foundation of the study;(4)building on the literature review and relevant research results combined with the purpose and perspective of the study to make research of “Shuion†series’ pedestrian street landscape designPaper is divided into six chapters, and the specific context goes as follows:The first chapter is the background. Indicating the article’s purpose, to make a brief description of the core point, explanting and defining the research’s related concepts, listing the methods and framework of the research.The second chapter is the current status analysis and the cognition of the research object. Combining in and abroad instances to clarify and summarize the existing regionalism characteristics problems embodied in the commercial pedestrian street landscape design.The third chapter is cases study research. Making brief introductions of the “Shuion†series cases, and explore the original places’ regionalism characters where the cases lays in. through on-the-pot investigation, induction and analysis, to highlight the practice into theory and put up with design key points in each case according to critical regionalism.Chapter four is the countermeasures research.
