Vector hydrophone has huge advantage due to its intrinsic dipole directivity and ability to solve the problem of port/starboard ambiguity. Fiber optic vector hydrophone because of its high sensitivity, small transmission loss, small signal crosstalk, pick up sound field abundant information, etc. In a weak signal, regional electronic alert, torpedo guidance, and other fields have broad application prospects. DOA is one of the key topics in the underwater acoustic signal, but with the SNR decreased, targets were very close. The conventional algorithm performance fell sharply, directional results appear large deviation. This paper studied the background noise of directional algorithm improvement, to improve the directional properties of fiber optic vector hydrophone array.From the review of the vector hydrophone and vector array based the orientation of the development of technology, the present situation, mainly done the following work:1, the model theory of vector array are given, is based on the array receiving data model. Based on vector hydrophone of conventional beamforming(C BF), minimum variance distortionless response(MVDR) and multiple signal classification(MUSIC) algorithm, the basic algorithm performance is simulated, directional algorithm for fiber optic vector hydrophone lay a foundation for improvement.2, the MVDR algorithm USES the joint space-time adaptive processing(STAP) was improved, STAP has airspace and 2d time domain identification ability, is an effective way to make up for a lack of spatial filtering, and analyzed its directional performance through the simulation.3, using matrix airspace pre filtering, improved MUSIC algorithm can be divided into the design of the filter matrix and the improved MUSIC algorithm to solve the two steps. Is verified by simulation and experiment data processing has been found to have keep bandpass signal distortion not inhibit the stopband noise at the same time, which can improve the processing gain and distinguish the characteristics of probability.4, the orientation of vertical array with the method of data fusion was improved, the primitive data of vertical a rray weighted sum for directional after processing, the simulation shows that this method has can restrain noise and channel for long-range target ups and downs, and handle four primitives vertical array lake trial data verify the validity of the data fusion algorithm.
