Coating of aluminum alloy wheel, its purpose mainly includes two aspects of anti-corrosion and aesthetic. In this paper, the painting anti-corrosion and aesthetics were technology researched and elaborated. The anti-corrosion aspects include the stability of the pretreatment and the film thickness during the coating process. Aesthetics aspects of the wheel by way of electrophoresis coating, so as to realize tinted, increase the wheel beautiful effect.The pretreatment is the important factor for the anti-corrosion of the wheel, and the stability of its parameters directly determines the quality of the pretreatment. This paper does a systematic research on the pretreatment, and transformation of equipment. The cleaning tank is increased before the No.1 pretreatment tank, while increasing direct injection straight row between groove and groove, to ensure stable parameters pretreatment. Finally, through the actual test of the statistical parameters for several months, the parameters of the pretreatment have stabilized and in the controllable range.Wheel coating thickness, especially the thickness of the film corner is one of the important indicators of the performance of the anti-corrosion, also the focus of customer. But due to the wheel design and production equipment, the thickness does not meet the customer’s demand. This article mainly from the spray gun position, support speed, paint viscosity and paint volume four aspects do research and exploration. Eventually lock paint viscosity height and spray gun position setting are the key factors that affect the film thickness. At the same time optimize them, changing the angle of spray gun to the vertical direction, increasing the viscosity of paint, ultimately ensure Dicastal wheel 100 percent to meet customer demand.Due to customer demand for personalized is higher and higher, so the color wheel widely attention, but high efficiency, low cost for production is a problem. Dicastal at first used the original artificial shading mode, this technology is low efficiency, poor quality, does not conform to the mass production. Therefore, the development of the new technology is imperative for us. According to the principle of electrophoresis process, non-conductive position is not painted. Then in theory, color wheel production can be achieved. But existing electrophoresis wheel mainly after-sales or modified, never for OEM. Dicastal has been studied and developed of electrophoresis process, and product performance can meet the requirement of OEM. At present Honda Motor Company has initial intention to buy electrophoresis color products. The machining and electrophoresis automatic painting line, good consistency, little human input, without the need for manual repair, to realize the automation of production to meet the demand of consumers for personalized.
