Because collapsible loess have firm structure, high porosity in the condition of nature settlement deformation is little under normal load. But when the moisture content of the loess increases, the structural strength of the loess will be weakened sharply then settlement deformation will occur rapidly under the effect of the load. And the wet-setting loess meeting with water will cause the obvious unequal settlement and endanger upside structure. Lime-soil pile is the conventional method to deal with collapsible loess, and according to Specification, characteristic value of subsoil should not be greater than 250 k Pa when using this method.The article start from the characteristics of collapsible loess, combining with the characteristics of bearing capacity of foundation with lime-soil compaction pile, to research the effect of method of lime-soil compaction pile reinforcing collapsible loess foundation.Through cooperating with Helin Power plant project department, conduct a large number of in-situ test and laboratory soil test, and provide reasonable design scheme for the proposed cooling tower. And Demonstrates that the method of lime-soil compaction pile can be still used when the required characteristic value of the foundation bearing capacity is greater than 250 k Pa,it can provide a reference for similar engineering.
