Characteristics of precast pile have good stability and bearing force, small settlement and convenience of constucting. When penetrating gravel interlayer, some defects such as pile end been beaten roughly, piling not reached the designed depth and pile been beaten diverged are easily happen,If directly took the gravel interlayer as bearing layer of foundation, this problem can be solved. The bearing capacity of piles in different geological conditions is studied by using indoor model test and numerical simulation.Conclusions are as follows:(1) Pile axial force along the direction of the buried depth showed a trend of decrease, as the load increases the axial force passing from top to bottom, which means that pile end resistance and pile frictional resistance are not working at the same time, sometimes the pile end resistance evendo not function..(2) Bearing capacity of single pile increases as the bearing layer’s thickness increases. Thicker bearing layer fails with small settlement and appears whole shear failure when reaching the ultimate bearing capacity.(3) The friction of the upper part of the pile is increased firstly and then decreases with the increase of the relative displacement of the pile, and the friction force of the pile end keep increasing before the ultimate load.(4) The lateral friction of the piles generally presents on a single peak state, and the position of the peak state is gradually moved down as the settlement of pile tip increases. Around the single pile which is at the ultimate bearing capacity, the soil mass is changed along with the position of the pile, experiencing the stage of reinforce hardening, strain softening and the residual strength.(5) By the way of indoor test and numerical simulation, the study of bearing properties of precast pile whose bearing stratum is gravel interlayer shows that conclusion of the ways are basically consistent. FLAC3 D is available to analyze the influence of prcast pile’s properties.
