Vehicle collision avoidance system is one of the key technologies of active safety. Due to the leading development of sensor and computer application technology, vehicle active safety technology is developing rapidly. It is wide used on the vehicle for it not only makes sure driving safety, but reduces the occurrence of traffic accidents and the loss. The safety distance model of vehicle warning system based on the driver collision avoidance behavior is studied in this thesis.In this dissertation, the vast research work for the safety distance model of vehicle warning system and analyzing the advantages and disadvantages of various safety distance algorithm and using conditions is introduced first. This paper puts the model of reaction time and braking strength in the process of avoidance behavior based on road friction properties. According to the defining model and the front vehicle ’s status, we define the safety distance based on the road friction properties for the driver model.Then, Analysis of collision avoidance warning system’s function, we design the overall scheme of the simulation platform of collision avoidance warning system. By Carsim software powerful modeling functions, the vehicle dynamic model is established. In the graphical modeling environment of Simulink software, a switch model of the vehicle dynamic model’s input values which calculates the expected throttle valve the expected brake pressure and the switching model of throttle control and brake pressure is established based on the proposed vehicle dynamic model. By analyzing Carsim and Simulink software interfaces, the united simulation is achieved. Aiming at the non- linear of vehicle, this paper designs the layered control strategy to achieve controlling the vehicle’s acceleration. Connecting system module to build vehicle simulation platform of collision avoidance warning system.Finally, to verify the proposed safety distance correctness, the proposed safety distance algorithm is simulated under typical operating conditions in the above simulation platform. To analyzing the simulation results, it indicates that he proposed algorithm can meets the requirements of collision avoidance system, and can provide reference for related research.
