Traffic is highly correlated with our human society in modern times, and in the busy modern world, traffic problems are more and more serious and not neglectable. The bottleneck effects are critical reasons for traffic jams. Statistics show that the bottleneck will also lead to lots of complex phenomenon. This article first studies the accelerating models of vehicles, and then simulates the traffic flow based on Cellular Automata(CA), finally points out some valuable results.Firstly, based on the Nagel-Schreckenberg(NS) model of traffic flow, we establish an improved NS model by ameliorating the traditional NS model. In the improved model, movements of vehicles are better corresponding to behaviors of real vehicles. What is more, the model divides vehicles into groups so as to take the drivers’ reaction time into consideration. Through simulation, we find that the time-space distribution of vehicles displays a mode like "jam waves", corresponding to those traditional traffic flow models, which makes our improvement more convincing.Next, we extend the single-lane model to a three-lane model, adding obstacles and introducing lane-switching rules. Through simulation, we study effects of different obstacles and different traffic flows, obtain some interesting and useful results.
