With the lack of global fossil energy, high-polluting and high waste in the scope of large engineering machinery have been criticized by people in a long time. To solve the problem of environmental protection and the efficient of using energy is imperative that the construction machinery industry to achieve sustainable development. As the typical machine of the field in construction machinery, studying the electric drive system of bulldozer have a typical representative.In this paper, modern large-scale experimental platform is the basic for this research. The main contents are as follows: First, overall structure of the electric drive system is analyzed carefully, drawing a detailed description of the advantages of the electric drive system by comparison with other conventional transmission system. After, owing to the detailed description of the matching principle and the matching conditions for each transmission electric drive system components, the parameters of the main components of the electric drive system are calculated carefully. Then, building the model of electric drive system and the whole bulldozer machine on the MTALAB/Simulink simulation platform based on the calculated parameters. Finally, combining the simulation analysis of electric drive system designed by ADVISOR2002 and comparing with the traditional bulldozer, we get the expected results of energy saving, environmental protection, and efficient.The electric drive system of the large bulldozer is designed to be the main content of this paper. It provides a theoretical guidance and explores a new path for electricity transmission study for other construction in environmental protection and energy efficient.
