The wind power is the best utilization of wind energy. To improve the utilization rate of wind energy, it is necessary to improve the performance of wind turbine equipment. With the development of science and technology, wind turbines has become increasingly large, so the performance of the key parts of it must meet the large scale. Wheel hub, as one of the key components of wind turbine, under all power from the blade load, is translate force into a moment, to play the role of transformation force and moment, in which stress is the most complex, particularly high mechanical performance requirements.The working environment of Wheel hub is very complex, working height is generally above 50 meters, so maintenance is specially difficult after installation, so the performance requirements of the wheel is higher than other wind turbine requirements of key parts. Environmental changes in recent years in our country, especially the frequent extreme environments, such as high temperature plains, low temperature plateau, sea wind, dust, drought and so on, these climate environment directly caused serious damage to wind turbine equipment, many wind turbines had not reached the use fixed number of year is discarded, which caused huge losses to the enterprise. In order to solve these problems, this paper makes a simulation analysis on the 2 MW wind turbine wheel, in addition to the generally aerodynamic load, inertia load and gravity load, which effected hub, were researched, the extreme conditions such as temperature load was considered too. Through analyzing the coupling of temperature load, it is concluded that temperature load on the wheel hub bearing influence is very large, especially in low temperature environment, the damage caused by extreme weather in hub also verified in recent years.The hub and the corresponding blade are made as a complete sets, the wind turbine power increases, the quality and the volume of blade and hub increased, coupled with the installation of the hub height is particularly high, wheel manufacturing, transport, and maintenance are much more difficult. In order to solve this dilemma, through the comparative analysis of existing wheel structure this article conducted optimization design for the hub, small stress wall with hollow design, and the hub material was changed from ductile cast iron to low alloy cast steel, optimization design can guarantee the normal work of the wheel hub in extreme circumstances, and solve the inconvenience caused by the big quality and bulky of hub, which provide reliable basis for wheel hub manufacturers.
