Planning And Design Study For Waterfront Landscape Of Jinan

Due to the huge "homogenization" of current urban culture and urban image as well as the lacking of regional feature and originality of urban waterfront park, in this study, Jinan was taken as an example, the urban water resource and waterfront park construction were investigated by field research and questionnaire firsthand and inquiringly through inductive and deductive analysis, literature review, comparative analysis and theory-practice method. At the same time, based on relative data and the case of around-city park, a blue print for the design of urban waterfront park was provided. In view of the current situation of waterfront park of Jinan, a theory was present to resolve the issue of how to construct a more characteristic waterfront park via improving the nature landscape and human landscape which was emphasized particularly. The theory which is focused on folk customs, human arts and regional culture was applied in the rebuilding of waterfront park of Jinan. The regional culture was integrated into the park that can be felt from the function layout, water system, recreation space, road traffic, visual attraction, public facilities, green vegetation. Our This study was focused on breaking the "homogenization" of urban waterfront park, it was expectingthat the waterfront park of Jinan which rebuilt according to our theory could be a landmark of the culture and regional feature of Jinan that can exhibit the nature of urban culture and urban image. Hereby, the city of Jinan can be more identifiable than other city. In the meantime, Further more we envisage that the present study would give inspiration to the design of waterfront park of other city.
