As the global energy costs continue to rise,most countries and society have developed a more efficient and more cost-saving green lighting. Because of the low cost, high efficiency, long life, green energy and other characteristics, the LED light source which is representative of a new generation of lighting has draw the attention of many companies and research institutions of the countries. These features make the LED lighting source successful occupy more and more proportion of lighting market, which led to the rapid development of the LED industry.IC scale is increasing, which makes the R & D engineers encountered greatdifficulties with the application of EDA software when conducting system simulation.Such simulation takes much time and creates big data, which seriously affect theproduct design cycle. The integrated circuit Verilog-A behavior model can be a great help todesigners. It can greatly reduce the amount of data, shorten the simulation time andeventually improve the product design cycle.The paper has made behavior models for LED lighting controller based on Verilog-A HDL. In this paper, the LED lighting controller is split into several independent function modules: voltage reference module, a primary side inductor current sampling module, zero crossing detection module, output current estimation module, the error amplifier module, conduction timer module, valley detection module. According to the different functions of each module,describe the established behavior model, and use simulation toolCandenceSpectre to simulate the code and get the corresponding simulation waveform graph.The results show that using the Verilog-A hardware description language for LED lighting driver module, it can reduce the cost of simulation time, speed up the simulation process of integrated circuit design, and the simulation accuracy has been improved. The module’s main function is initially realized, proved the effectiveness and feasibility of using Verilog-A HDL in the analog integrated circuit design to describe language behavior model to replace the actual transistor level circuit module.
