With high efficiency, high integration, power management chip especially switching power supply is widely used in various electronic products. With the popularity of consumer electronics, switching power supply used for portable devices have been developing rapidly.Portable products usually use the battery. The requirement for low supply voltage, high efficiency switching power converters’ design has become higher. Highperformance switching power supply can significantly improve the efficiency of battery, and increase the using time of portable products. It reduces the number of external components, and size, thereby reducing the volume and mass of the entire system.The design of a current mode boost controller is based on a CURRENT MODE. This article analysis the topology and the small signal module of the system. Research and design the circuit. The main contents of this paper include the following aspects:1. Selection of the system topology and analysis of system’s small-signal model. Select the boost topology based on the system’s low-power portable applications and the characteristics of the system’s input and output. Use current-mode, adding the current loop. Analysis the small-signal model of the system, get the transfer function of the system. choose a suitable compensation network to ensure the stability of the system.2. Analysis and design of the functional modules of the system. Design and simulate the module based on CSMC 1μm BCD process by using the Cadence EDA tools. This thesis includes the following module: the band-gap reference, over temperature protection and error amplifier with its compensation network. Finally, simulate and verify the function of the entire system.3. System layout design, tape-out and test of the sample. Describe the design of parts of modules’ layout and the consideration of the system’s layout. Test the function of the samples. The test results of band-gap reference, band-gap reference trimming and other function meet the design specifications. The constant current accuracy is ?%4, and the system has a good performance.
