Stealth technology plays an important role in modern national war and the target coated with absorb-wave material is commonly used, but the stealth coating may be scratched, making the target stealth ability declined, so detecting the location of damaged coating has important significance on protection of stealth target.The main purpose of stealth coating damage detection is to identify the damage location, which can improve the efficiency of coating damage repairment. In order to accurately detect the site of injury, this paper measures the target model, transforms damage detection into damage type identification. Through actual experiment, provides an effective detection method. The result displays that the detection method this paper studied can accurately determine the damage location in all experiments.In order to detect coating damage, this paper carries on the following researchs:1, Analyse stealth target coating damage performance and mechanism, design a stealth coating damage testing system;2, Combine broadband frequency sweep test and noise eliminating method to collect target echo, in order to ensure noise eliminating method’s effectiveness, use inverse cloud model to evaluate the noise, promoting noise cancellation’s accuracy;3, Use improved Hilbert-Huang transform to achieve the target feature. This paper analyzes Hilbert-Huang transform, describes the end points problem and extreme points fitting problem then improved it.The improved Hilbert-Huang transform is applied to feature extraction, obtaining the marginal spectrum of stealth target;4, Achieve a complete measurement system to do coating damage target detection. This paper integrated all processing module into stealth coating damage detection system, including data acquisition system, data processing system and damage type recognition system.The measurement data showed that the stealth coating damage detection method used in this paper has high efficiency, it can accurately determine the type of injury and detect the damage location of target model.
