In recent years, the rapid development of our country civil aviation transportation market, the increasing number of passengers entering and leaving port, airport of civil airport is required to provide more efficient and departure services. Airport baggage handling system (BHS) play an extremely important role in it, is an important symbol of measuring airport automation level, and the quality of service to the airport provides a strong guarantee.The luggage automatic sorting system is the key to BHS sub-modules, its quality directly affect the efficiency of transfer baggage.BHS as research background, select automatic baggage sorting system as the specific research object, is of great significance.Firstly Paper reviews the developing course of airport baggage handling system in our country, summarizes the research status. Then provide an overview of the whole structure and the basic function module BHS, emphasis on working principle of automatic sorting subsystem and baggage rules.Then the author participate in Shanghai pudong airport from baggage sorting system for the overall design, the flow chart of three layers of total control model and system running.The design and implementation of BHS baggage sorting based on Siemens S7-400 PLC subsystem is detailed design, this is also the author’s results in a specific engineering project summary.In lower machine, design the system hardware configuration diagram and PLC software structure diagram, is of vital importance to the key design sorting system of the check-in counter, "virtual window" technique was adopted to realize the conveyor belt of appointments, luggage import control.PC. In conveyor belt motor control, drive motor frequency control of motor speed, the induction motor vector control scheme.Give three closed loop (speed loop, magnetic link, alternating current loop) dynamic structure diagram, analyses the physical concept of each variable and the calculation method. complete the SCADA with WinCC configuration software (data acquisition and monitoring control system) design, mainly includes:creating variables, menus, and toolbars, graphics, images, data communication, filing, alarm configuration variables, the configuration of user permissions.By S7-400 PLC and WinCC collaborate, this baggage sorting system has been successfully put into use.Upon examination, the system runs stably, safe and reliable.Finally, some problems in our country of the BHS is analysed, and made some prospects for its future development.
