With the rapid development of Kaifeng, Henan Lankao region of rapidly rising living standards and industrial economy, people is growing demand for energy. Energy shortage and environmental pollution worldwide has become two important factors restricting the sustainable development of human society, to develop new alternative energy sources has become imperative. As a new energy production method of solar power, its no pollution, no noise, easy maintenance, etc. shows very broad space for development and application prospects. The power balance of Lankao region shows that the region has been unable to meet the load requirements of the substation, in order to ease the load pressure, while increasing regional power grid safety and reliability, combined with the actual Lankao local conditions, proposed the building of 10 MW photovoltaic power plants.This paper introduces the level of economic and power development of Kaifeng, Henan Lankao region. The station’s address were selected, considering lighting conditions of the station site, address conditions and convenient transportation, etc., to verify the reasonableness of the site selection.
