Hydraulic coupling as an advanced speed control energy-saving technology, since our country introduced the proprietary technology, it has been made significant technical and economic benefits in various fields. Although the application of hydraulic coupling has been noticed, but compared with other countries, in terms of product design methods, the reliability of the product, etc., there is still a big gap. Therefore, China urgently needs the application of modern design methods to improve the performance of all aspects of hydraulic coupling, thus promoting the further development of the coupling device.In this paper, choosing the YOTCGP650 governor hydraulic coupling for research instance, applying more sophisticated computational fluid dynamics(CFD) techniques, to make the flow field within the working chamber of the fluid coupling simulation study. First, using the PRO-E software to make the pump and turbine of YOTCGP650 speed control hydraulic coupling solid modeling. Secondly, using the HyperMesh software to extract fluid coupling model of the flow channel, and meshing the flow channel model to obtain the computational model which can be used to calculate the flow field simulation. Finally, identify the constraints which is applied to the fluid coupling simulation of the flow field. Setting the fluid coupling input speed is 1500r/min, respectively filled with different rates and different rotational speed for the inner coupling simulation under conditions of flow field,analyze the velocity field for each state, as well as gas-liquid two pressure field phase distribution. Observe the circulation patterns fluid coupling working chamber under different conditions. According to the simulation results, drawing fluid coupling filling curve at different rates, and make error analysis of simulation calculation.Through the above analysis, using the computational fluid dynamics technology to make the flow field in fluid coupling simulation study, the calculated results can basically reflect the flow field in coupling characteristics, the obtained fluid coupling simulation curve compared with the actual characteristics reflects basic unanimously. Compared with traditional methods experimental prototype, computational fluid dynamics methods in the design and development process has a small cost, high efficiency, easy process and other advantages. Designers can use this method to minimize the cost of repeated verification of the design process, and optimize the design to improve the performance of the product.
