Staff work in power substation is always a kind of dangerous job. Considering the special circumstances in power substation, the staff needs a real-time communication with the console in the substation. When the unexpected accident happens, we can acquire the staff’s localization information and take a valuable time to the accident scene in order to reduce the accidental damage.The substation site standard operating system which is based on wireless sensor network localization can effectively solve the problems during substation site standardization work. We can locate the position of the construction workers accurately via wireless sensor network node, and then through the WSN network to achieve the information exchange between the dispatcher and construction workers.At present, they adopt a certain mechanism or algorithm in most wireless sensor networks. WSN node localization algorithm mainly includes Bounding Box algorithm proposed by Slobodan N.Simic and Shankar Sastry, DV-hop algorithm and Euclidean algorithm proposed by Niculescu et al. But all the algorithms mentioned above are confined in a two-dimensional space, but the application condition is three-dimensional, the signals of network nodes disperse in a three-dimensional space.In this paper, we adopt theoretical calculations together with the software simulation method to study the possibility of the algorithm improvements in theory and practical application. In details it includes:study of existing localization algorithms; proposes a high-precision three-dimensional positioning algorithm based on some existing algorithms; make a contrast between the improved algorithm and former existing algorithms by simulation; change the parameter by making an integrated consideration with all aspects of the algorithm.The research in this paper makes a breakthrough in limitations of existing tools, it has innovation in wireless network node localization algorithm and system design, which effectively solves the problems in substation site standardization work.
