High voltage transmission line is a kind of cable structures with large deformation. It has obvious non-linearity. Because of the external load, the vibration of the transmission line has high frequency and durative. It becomes an important security risk for transmission line, and limits to reduce conductor costs. With the speeding up of the transmission line construction in China, the contradiction is increasingly strident. In this paper, based on transmission line are mainly two tasks:nonlinear static analysis and nonlinear dynamic analysis of transmission lines. The paper simulates the wire unit by using three-node quadratic curve unit. It derives the unit stiffness matrix, mass matrix and load matrix by using virtual work equation. And it forms a system of nonlinear finite element dynamic equation. Considering in the case of acceleration is zero, it uses Newton-Raphson method to solve the finite element static equilibrium equation, and derives the element tangent stiffness matrix. In the static analysis, static program SBS1 is compiled based on Fortran. It can get each node and element’s displacement and stress also. At the same time introduces using APDL language to find the process of form, and compares it with SBS1. It shows that the method is proposed in highly accuracy and efficiency. In the dynamic analysis, it mainly focuses on the dynamic response of the transmission line with moving loads. It solves the nonlinear dynamic equation of the transmission line with moving loads, the rational approximation method is used, and it makes program CBLINED in Fortran. It has four working conditions to analyze that using this program studies the nonlinear dynamic response of the transmission line with moving loads. And a series of conclusions for engineering practice in the aspect of the application to provide certain reference value.According to the nonlinear large deformation static and dynamic response of high voltage transmission line problem, the proposed method has lots of characteristics such as the accurate and reliable numerical results, rapid and stable convergence. It deserves further research and extension.
