Toady over-fishing and poor marine environment caused depletion of coastal fishery resources, so marine fisheries needed a major structural adjustment. Off-shore cage advantages include high efficiency, high capacity and friendly environmental farming model, so people pay more and more attention on this. As an innovative system-integration marine equipment, it includes couple of key technologies, like balance up-and-down, intelligent feeding, power supply and so on, among all of which sufficient power supply is the first step to develop off-shore cage. Water speed in site where off-shore cages are located is not high, and in this paper we propose a tidal generator system which can generate much more electricity than other models in lower water speed. In order to design the rotor of tidal generation, thesis research is as follows:According to the requirements of off-shore cage, We need to test and analyze water speed in site where offshore cage is located before choosing the right rotor of tidal generation. At last, resistance-type vertical axis rotor is chosen. On the basis of traditional S-type rotor, we optimize the structure of rotor through building fluid mass continuity equation. Therefore a rotor like S-type is primarily designed.Building 3-D mathematical model of rotor in the fluid, then using Ansys Fluent to simulate work conditions in which rotor submergence is different, after that we can get relationship figure between torque and angle in every condition.In the end, we check and analyze main part of electricity-generating system, making system safe and reliable.Through the above analysis and design, a whole experimental model of net cage was made to carry out a test in the sink. The datum we get from experiment are consistent with simulation results. The rotor of tidal energy generator can supply enough energy for offshore cages, and acts as the baffle of cages at the same time. This makes a very important significance for the industrial development of offshore cages.
