It has become an indispensable part of Chinese tourism with more than thirty years development. Even though it has a bright future, its development in regions is unbalanced. The development in some places is succeed. However, in some other places, their development might fall into a failure or stagnancy.With abundant natural and cultural resources and local features, Poyang Lake is the biggest freshwater lake in China. The thesis takes Poyang lake’s agritainment as the research object. First, it explores the featured resources from such different aspects as geographical situation, ecological environment, history, culture and folklore. Then, it discusses the developing status and existing problems by field investigation. In the third place, it concludes the agritainment’s regional design characteristics by deeply interpreting Regionalism Design theory and Neo-regionalism. At last, the thesis figures out a set of principles and methods that the regional design should obey and offers related discussions which connect with the real circumstances of Poyang lake. The thesis is about to make Poyang Lake with more characteristics by Regional Designs theory, which leads agritainment’s development in a harmonious path.
