With the development of power electronic technology, AC-DC-AC converter technology based on full controlled devices such as GTO and IGBT in electric locomotive(HXD Series) and EMU(CRH Series) has been widely used. The power factor of electric locomotive with AC drive technology is close to 1.0,and 3rd、5th and 7th harmonics has been significantly decreased, but much higher frequencies harmonics(such as more than 20th) are increased significantly. Shenyang Railway Bureau has HXD electric locomotive, CRH series EMUs, SS series electric locomotive online, so there is a situation that AC-DC-AC locomotive and AC-DC locomotive operate at same time. Harmonic has a potential threat to the safe operation of high-speed railway.In this thesis, based on a comprehensive test to the electric locomotive and EMU and traction power supply system, harmonic in traction power supply system and its penetration mechanism are studied. Multi-conductor equivalent PI model of direct power supply system with return line is derived. The harmonic resonance simulation for Haerbin-Dalian high speedrailway was carried out based on multi conductor equivalent π model through Matlab/Simulink software. Finally, traction power supply system harmonic control scheme with high pass filter is put forward and analyzed.
