Avseal pressing mounting machine of automobile engine cylinder is an important part of the engine assembly production line. In order to ensure the stability and continuity of the engine assembly, all aspects need to be highly reliable and sensitive. At present, the structure design of the avseal pressing mounting machine in C hina is still rely on the traditional method which combines simplifying calculation with material mechanics and experience design. Production practice proved that this design method is higher reliability, but there are some disadvantages such as long structural design cycle, material consumption, high cost and low efficiency. In addition, the designed machine is usually very heavy, which leads to the costs’ increasing and the business effectiveness’ s reducing. Aiming at these problems, the design and optimization for the avseal pressing machine of automobile engine cylinder is done.The avseal pressing mounting machine of engine cylinder is made up of four parts : the feeding device, the positioning clamping device, the glue device and the avseal press mounting device. The feeding device is used for getting the avseals out in a certain direction and sending them to the sub-feeders as two batches. The positioning clamping device is for positioning and clamping the cylinder which is going to be pressed. With the glue device, the right amount of sealant is evenly coated in the technology hole to ensure the sealing after pressing. The avseal press mounting device presses the avseals into the technology hole of cylinder to complete the cylinder ’s press-fit, which is based on interference fit.The structural design and optimization on the avseal pressing machine of automobile engine cylinder are the research focus. The research content includes the overall design of the pressure mounting machine based on CAD and PRO/E 5.0 software, the design of the feeding device, the design of the positioning clamping device, the design of the glue device and the design of avseal press mounting device. And by assembling the three-dimensional modeling, the motion simulation of the equipment is finished. So the equipment can be visually inspected more intuitively. The motion simulation result shows that the designed pressing machine will not produce interference phenomenon. The stress and deformation distribution of the key components can be got by the statics analyzing with ANSYS 12.0 software. The results show that the design strength of the pressure head, the lever, the crimping cabinet and the slide box meets the maximum force requirements of the pressing machine in working conditions. The occurrence of resonance phenomena of the pressing machine while it’s working can be effectively avoided by modal analysis, which is helpful for reducing the noise and provides strong technical support for the lightweight optimal design. Combined with the mechanical properties’ analysis results, the lightweight design for the parts which are less affected by the force is finished. The qualities of the lever and slide box’s upright plate were reduced by 23.5% and 39.3% respectively, which does not affect the strength and performance. And the optimal structures are given, too. By process optimizing and biomimetic structural optimization, the lightweight, rationalization and optimization of the machine’s structure is achieved at last.
