ABSTRACT:As an effective method for environmental vibration attenuation, pile rows have been widely used in engineering. But periodic pile rows are rarely concerned by scholars. According to periodic theory, propagation of elastic wave can be greatly attenuated by a periodic structure when frequency of the elastic wave falls into the band gap of the periodic structure. So when we design pile rows, it’s necessary to take periodicity into consideration. In former studies, soil and piles were assumed to be homogenous elastic material, actually soil is closer to saturated soil. Based on saturated poroelastic media model and periodic theory, application of periodic pile-saturated soil structure in environmental vibration attenuation is studied in this essay. The contents include:(1) Basic theories of periodic pile-saturated soil structure are introduced, including Biot dynamic theory and periodic theory. The procedures of calculating attenuation zones of a periodic structure by using FEM are introduced, and their correctness is verified.(2) Attenuation zones of periodic pile-saturated soil structures are calculated, and their characteristics are analyzed. The influence of relevant parameters on attenuation zones are discussed.(3) A numerical analytical model for environmental vibration attenuation by using a periodic pile-saturated soil structure is build. A frequency domain response analysis is conducted and the effectiveness of using periodic pile-saturated soil structures in environmental vibration attenuation is verified.
