Thermoacoustic engine is absolutely a new type of engine compared to traditional engine, which depends on the self-oscillation of refrigerant gases to generate acoustic power. It has the advantages of simple structure, no moving parts,high reliability, long operation and so on。Beyond that, it can use waste heat, solar energy as a heat source. At the same time, it utilizes inert gases without any pollution to the environment as working medium, which is a kind of new power device with extremely high value and potential.At present, the numerical simulation of thermoacoustic engine has received more and more attention in the research process of thermoacoustics. Based on the numerical simulation of thermoacoustic system, it can predicte thermodynamic properties of thermoacoustic system, which will provide great help to the research on the experimental system of thermoacoustic engine and the design of thermoacoustic engine.Thermoacoustic engine is classified traveling-wave thermoacoustic engine and standing-wave thermoacoustic engine. Generally, the efficiency of the traveling-wave thermoacoustic device is higher than that of standing-wave equipment. Therefore, the research on traveling-wave thermoacoustic engine has become a hot research in thermoacoustic fields.First of all,in this paper, utilizing finite element method to make the numerical simulation on the experimental system of a set of travelng-wave thermoacoustic engine, regarding linear thermoacoustic theory as the mathematical model for this simulated calculation, adopting the operating conditions identical to the experimental system as the physical model. At the same time, it adopts weighted residual method of finite element method to solve the above described mathematical model and establishes numerical simulation calculation block diagram in accordance with the algorithm of the whole system and follows the order to make iterative calculation for the system based on this block diagram. In the end, according to the calculated results,it observes the flow field characteristics in the actual traveling-wave thermoacoustic engine system and the effects of each component inside the engine on the thermoacoustic system,and the optimization method of the structure design of engine is proposed.Secondly,the thermoacoustic two-dimension first-order theory model is simplified。Beyond that, using the weighted residual method of finite element method algorithm to solve the simple pipeline model is put forward.At the same time,the steps of solution is introduced in detail and establish calculation block diagram.Finally, the summarization and expectation is given.
