The direct air-cooled unit has obvious water-saving effect, which is widely used in the power plant in the northwest region of our country with rich coal and little water. Direct air-cooled condenser uses air as cooling medium, and its performance directly affects the safe and economic operation of the unit. Improving heat transfer effect of the air-cooled condenser can make contributions to energy conservation and emissions reduction. Therefor it is of great significance to research the structure optimization and heat transfer characteristics of air-cooled condenser cell for the design and operation of air-cooled condenser.This article takes the traditional structure of a 600 MW direct air-cooled condenser cell as the research object. Radiators are installed in the triangle sides of air-cooled cell, in order to increase the heat transfer area of the radiator, and then improve the heat transfer characteristics of air-cooled cell. This paper simulates and analyses the heat transfer characteristics of air-cooled cell which is increased the triangle radiators by using FLUENT software. First of all, this paper simulates and analyses the effects of triangle radiator on the heat transfer performance of air-cooled cell, in order to get the optimal layout scheme. Secondly, it makes the further optimization of installing the flow guide plate and a swirling device of air-cooled condenser with triangle radiators, and installation angle of two kinds of devices are simulated and analyzed. The research’s results show that instaling flow guide plate and a swirling device in the new type air-cooled cell can improve the effect of heat transfer of air-cooled cell. Moreover, the different installation angle of the two kinds of devices for air-cooled cell’s heat exchanger is different. Finally, it simulates and analyses the heat transfer characteristics of hyperbolic type air-cooled cell of symmetrical structure, and analyses the influence of installation of swirling device on heat exchanger, for reducing the turbine exhaust pressure, provide a reference to improve the security and economy of operation of air-cooled unit.
