Nowadays, energy and environment issues in parallel are listed as the important challenges of human society, inflecting the progress of human society evolution. Relieve energy crisis, develop renewable energy and realize human society sustainable development become significant move of world energy development strategy. Wind energy, as an important category in renewable energy, is rapidly developing recently around the world.Wind turbine is the kernel of the wind power industry, and drive chain is one of the most critical part of the wind turbine. The performance of t drive chain directly affects the service life and work efficiency of wind turbine. The appropriate assembly process planning is of great significant to improve the property of wind turbine and reduce the cost of assembly, shorten the wind turbine project cycle.The paper took the current domestic mainstream 3MW wind turbine drive chain as the research object, selected the CAD/CAM software Solid Works as the development tool,the main research content is as follows:(1)Introduced and analyzed the structure and characteristics of wind turbine and its drive chain.(2)In order to simulate the assembly and work process better, a set of wind turbine gearbox transmission system had been designed, and then built the 3D models and finished the assembly of all the parts of the gearbox,through the software Solid Works,set up the virtual prototype of gear box.(3) On the basis of all the parts of wind turbine drive chain have been turned into 3D models,the paper took the actual production as the starting point,through the inverse inference of dismantle scheme, completed the drive chain of assembly sequence planning 、 assembly path planning and virtual assembly on the computer,drive chain simulation is carried out for the whole assembly process,then finished the interference inspection of the assembly,defects of the design had been pointed out and corrected.(4)The virtual prototype of wind turbine drive chain has been established,through Solid Works Motion,movement of the drive chain has been simulated and calculated,through the simulation calculation. the drive system design and assembly process planning were better, the data and results of the simulation,which could verify the rationality and feasibility of the assembly process planning and gearbox drive system,have been showed in graphic form,finally completed the wind turbine drive chainmodeling, assembly and simulation.
