In recent years, with the rapid development of the Pearl River Delta economy, asphalt highway in Guangdong Province has been developing rapidly. From the earliest opening in 1989, the Guangzhou-Foshan Expressway, to the end of 2014 the opening of the Erlianhaote-Guangzhou, Zhaoqing-Huadu, Meizhou-Dabu highway, Guangdong Province highway mileage has exceeded 6000 km, ranking first in the country, more than 90% are asphalt pavement. So how to properly evaluate the asphalt pavement skid resistance in Guangdong, as well as to determine the appropriate asphalt pavement skid performance evaluation system, while developing targeted conservation programs, to ensure the pavement skid resistance can meet the traffic quality is the urgent need to address the problem. In this study, the climate of Guangdong Province and Guangdong Province’s typical pavement skid resistance were investigated, combined with the lateral force coefficient test methods and road skid resistance evaluation methods to analyze the applicability of different asphalt pavements’ skid resistance in Guangdong Province.Then, on the basis of practical experience, combined with the lateral force coefficient test systems and test results analysis, initially proposed tire wear correction value. Studied the temperature correction value of lateral force coefficient under isothermal conditions in Guangdong Province, make adjustments according to the actual situation.
