As the active distribution network is put forward, traditional coal-fired power will be gradually replaced by distributed generations represented by renewable energy. However, most of them have greater volatility because of the weather, which decreases the accuracy of load forecasting and puts adverse impact on the global optimal voltage control. Second, the emergence of the coupling distributed generations represented by the small hydropower with a capacity makes the traditional online distribution network voltage control whose optimal decision goal is only for the current moment no longer appropriate. Therefore, the introduction of the model predictive control with feedback and forecasting is very significant.First of all, the influence of power quality by distributed generations and the operation principle and working characteristics of various regulating methods are studied in this paper. Secondly, the current injected newton-raphson method and its improved method are studied. What’s more, its quickness and accuracy is verified through the simulation on IEEE33 nodes distribution system. In addition, the linearization is still frequently used to solve the problem of nonlinear model in actual application, so in this paper, the improved current injection newton-raphson method is simplified by linearization. And its accuracy is verified to meet the requirement of the forecasting model. At last, the linear model of MPC is established which aims for the active distribution network with the small hydropower with a capacity, in which the output of the small hydropower are chosen as the controlled quantity and minimum voltage offset as the objective function. And the voltage control strategy with feedback is proposed according to the characteristics of the power system. The example simulation is based on IEEE33 network, from which the feasibility and superiority of the proposed control strategy is verified. What’s more, the relationship between the abundant of capacity and predictive horizon is studied which perfected the the proposed control strategy. In this paper, the model predictive control is introduced into the active distribution network voltage control areas, providing a new thought and method for later research for this aspect.
