Nuclear involved staff’s external irradiation protection is one of people’s attentions in radiation safety field. Virtual simulation based on virtual reality technology allows operation training and the work programmer simulation. The current dose assessment methods are to reduce the cost of calculation accuracy to ensure computational efficiency. But the above methods cannot be used for high precision real-time dose calculation and virtual simulation of more than one person at a time.To solve the above-mentioned problem, the parallel technology was used to optimize the real-time dose assessment method based on voxel model by decomposing the time-consuming task. Firstly, the thread parallel completed to read and calculate the dose conversion factor of organ or tissue, the other threads called the calculation results by reading the shared memory. A single thread calculated the radiation data information, and the other threads copied the calculation results by reading the shared memory. Secondly, each thread computed the position of a voxel, and calculated the dose of the voxel. Finally, the thread calculated the equivalent dose of organ or tissue by merging method, and the calculation of effective dose was completed by a single thread, and the thread parallel calculated the effective dose of multi role. We achieved the high accuracy real time dose assessment method and the evaluation method of effective dose and collective dose when many persons cooperated with each other. The ICRP model of the human body was introduced as the calculation model, which was released by the International Commission on Radiological Protection (ICRP), With the accelerator driven system as an example, and the real-time dose assessment method was applied to the spallation target window replacement simulation.27organ equivalent dose of worker was calculated real-timely, consisting of the equivalent dose, the maximum dose rate and the effective dose. The computation time for all voxels was15ms which was less than40ms, which meet the real-time calculation need. The results proved the validity and practicability of the evaluation method of real time dose, and also proved the rationality and feasibility of the spallation target window replacement scheme. Application of real-time dose assessment method provides support for the design and optimization of the scheme of work which is associated with nuclear radiation, provides a new solution to reduce the radiation hazards for workers who work in the radiation environment.
