High-pressure jet grouting method which uses pore-forming equipment to form thehole with expected deep, and uses high voltage generating equipment (high pressurepump) to produce high pressure jet stream of solidified slurry for punching and mixingthe soil mass, through the two devices at the bottom of the high-pressure jet groutingpipe, mixes and stirs granules of soil and solidified slurry to become mixed slurry whichforms consolidated structure with some character and shape after solidifying when thestructure of soil mass is destroyed by high-pressure jet through rotating and lifting thehigh-pressure jet grouting pipe.High-pressure jet grouting method can be divided into single pipe method, twopipes method and three pipes method, and have three forms to build underground cut-offwall, those forms are fixed jet, swing jet and rotating jet. It can be used widely anddesigned flexibly according to different conditions of soil. It also can build deeper cut-offwall perpendicular to the underground by controlling well the verticality of drilling.During the rapid development of China’s economic construction, drilling andhigh-pressure jet grouting method has been widely used in foundational construction ofdifferent industries, especially in the foundational seepage controlling project of WaterResources and Hydropower Engineering. But there are still many shortcomings.Firstly, drilling high-pressure jet must construct in sub-sequence, but also cannotavoid the emergence of "drilling collapse", which make the high-pressure jet groutingpipe can not reach the bottom of the hole and repeat sweeping. This kind of shortcomingresults in low efficiency, high cost and unreliable quality. The reasons of "drilling collapse" are that the protective wall may not strong enough, or the adjacent holes mayflow wind and slurry with each other, or nozzle clogging, and so on.Secondly, because of the sub-sequence in drilling, there are seams in High-pressurejet walls between the first and the second sequence holes, witch can result in inevitableleakage.Thirdly, the space between holes may design too large for more efficiency and lowercost, that the strong destructive power from the high energetic area can not be useeffectively. Because the radius of high-pressure jet slurry is smaller, there may be manyvoids in the wall, and that may affect the quality of construction.Above all, drilling high-pressure jet usually use in temporary project of undergroundcut-off walls, but nor in permanent project.Dealing with these shortages above, the engineers from NIDR made so manyresearches that they invested the vibrate drilling high-pressure jet grouting method whichis using in permanent cut-off wall project of Dadingzishan Navigation Power Junctiondam.The paper analyses the advantages and disadvantages of the grouting method, anddoes further theoretical research about high-pressure jet grouting method used inspecific project, so that we can provide more references to other applications in differentprojects about high-pressure jet grouting method.
