As society progresses, mechanization has increased, and applications of bearings havewidened. Proper operations of machines are dependent on the quality of bearings. This articlereviews the advancement of measuring techniques for bearings and current developmentswithin China and internationally, and focusing on current detection techniques to determinebearing vibration signals, spectrogram analysis was conducted to determine bearing faults andtheir location. Bearing vibrations result in the vibration of its surrounding systems, and theresultant mechanical waves produced is what is referred to as ‘noise’.There is a close relationship between bearing vibration and noise, thus through detectionof bearing noise it is also possible to determine potential faults and breakdowns. With theincreased demand for low noise bearings, research into bearing noise and analysis techniquesare becoming more important than ever before.Through article reviews, this study investigates the main characteristics of bearingstructure. A three-dimensional model of bearing vibration is established, and Through theestablished three-dimensional model Furthermore, analysis of the bearing noise formula wasconducted using Matlab, which showed that the degree of surface fault on the bearing has adirect relationship with bearing noise and the sound pressure level generated.Based on the earlier research model, this study has also presented a system to removebearing noise signal.The challenge of the experiment was the impact of background noise onthe results, therefore a sound-proofing solution was designed for the study. Throughexperimental testing, the sound-proofing solution was able to eliminate30dB of backgroundnoise. The addition of the sound-proofing solution was necessary since current marketsolutions were not suitable for the experiment. Then, ascertain the condition of the bearing, atthe same time retain data for future analysis.Through the experiment, the system as proven toyield anticipated results, confirming that by studying the noise generated by the system, faults within the bearings can be determined.
