With the develop of traffic construction in China is in full swing, in order to meetthe needs of economic development, every village access roads have been carried outfor many years. Our country is vast in territory, the terrain is complicated andchangeable, the winding road and mountain road is the inevitable form of mountainousarea highway. In recent years, natural disasters such as earthquake, debris flow prone, the slope stability monitoring is essential for the protection of road transportation safety. However, in many mountain highway roadside slope, rock mass stability monitoringequipment are not set, just arrange regular inspections by the highways department, notonly time-consuming, but also cannot get accurate monitoring data in real time, once theslope rock instability factors, will lead to falling boulder or pavement collapse danger, serious harm to the safety of people’s life property.According to the requirement existing in remotely monitoring on rock massstability of the rock mountain highway roadside slopes demand in China, the design of astable and efficient real-time monitoring and early warning system of rock massstability is based on acoustic emission sensor, low power STM32F205RE microcontroller unit,GPRS wireless communication technology and WEB networktechnology. The structure and functions, the hardware design and the means ofcommunications with the upper computer of the monitoring system are describedemphatically. And emphatically expounds the design difficulties and the measures toimprove the reliability. In the future, the monitoring system can be developed to thedirection of sensor networks, achieve more comprehensive results.
