A new transfer function considering softening of soil is obtained on ZhanJiangstructural clay,The load transfer method is adopted to explore the load transferproperties between the pile and soil in ZhanJiang structural clay.Applied the transferfunction to the pile project in Zhanjiang area,using the new function to nlinfit theobservation transfer function, The results is very closed to the testing results. Using thenlinfit parameters and adopt compatible displacement method to calculate the settlementof a single pile, The calculated results were compared with the measured results,theresults is very closed.Thereby the proposed transfer function will be of great practice inpile project of ZhanJiang area for it’s perfectly reflecting the load transfer mechanism ofthe soil.The main research and performance are as follows:(1)A new transfer function considering softening of soil is obtained for the behaviorof structure’s damage under grate pressure and strain softening in triaxial shear test inZhanJiang structural clay,the curve comprehensively describes the strength of the clayfirstly increasing and then decreasing and keeping a stable value lastly as thedisplacement between the pile and the soil increasing.the curve perfectly reflecs theclay’s mechanism of clay’s structure damage.(2)Comparing the new transfer function with other5function consideringsoftening.The new function comparatively well embodies the feature of clay’sdestruction rapidly and perfectly reflects the residual strength.The new function wereused to study the laws of pile settlement and internal force distribution when the pileparameters changed and the soil strength distribution were different.(3)Adapting the new function to nonlinear the measured points from static load testof a single pile,the goodness of fit are perfect.Using the fitted parameters and loadtransfer function to caculate the pile’s settlement,the P Scurve obtained is closed tothe measured results,and the axial force in specific section is closed to the measured results,proving that the load transfer function is very suitable for calculating a singlepile settlement in ZhanJiang group structural clay.(4)Based on the geological engineering condition, the finite element analysissoftware ANSYS has been used to simulate the characters of a single pile under verticalpressure in layered soil.The three-dimensional model of pile and soil has beenestablished and contact element is used to simulated the interaction between the pile andsoil,the distribution of stress field and displacement field the is obtained.
