The Concrete filled steel tubular structure has many outstanding advantages in the mechanical and construction performance, so it is widely used in the construction of highways and city Bridges in China. Meanwhile the concrete filled steel tube arch bridge also gets rapid developments. However its designing theory and the technology lagged behind its building speed seriously. In addition, according to the detection result of the concrete filled steel tube arch bridges in China, it indicates that different levels of the void at the interface of the concrete-filled steel tube happened in the arch rib. In this article, it introduces the reason of the void and the effects to the mechanical performance when the void existed. Due to the void’s influences to the mechanical performance, the real-time monitoring of the void at interface becomes especially important.In this article a novel method to detect the void at the interface is proposed. When the transient impact knocks on the surface of the tube, the acceleration sensors gathers the acceleration signals of the each measuring point. According to the analysis of the signals, the different vibration performances can be shown. What’s more, the void at the interface of the concrete-filled steel tube can be recognized.
