With the development of economic construction, the use of steel reinforced ultra-high-strength concrete structure is becoming more and more widely. This is because that the bearing capability and seismic performance of this structure are much better. It can improve the bearing capacity of the structure and better reflect the effect of steel shape. Then, steel reinforced ultra-high-strength concrete columns have been widely used in tall buildings in seismic regions. Although steel reinforced ultra-high-strength concrete columns had some experimental study, the seismic performance is still imperfect, and finite element analysis study is also relatively less. Therefore, the seismic performance and finite element analysis study of steel reinforced ultra-high-strength concrete columns have objective necessity. To study seismic performance of steel reinforced ultra high-strength concrete columns, the test research of6steel reinforced ultra high-strength concrete columns (1=2.6) subjected to low cyclic reversed lateral loads was carried out. Then, the failure process and modes, the axial compression ratio, stirrup ratio and steel shape about the ductility of steel reinforced ultra high-strength concrete columns are discussed. Finally, the experimental results show that the main failure pattern of the specimens is bending failure and shear failure. The test results show that the hysteretic curves of bending failure specimens are plump with relatively slow descending branches, indicating excellent seismic behavior. However, the hysteretic curves of shear failure are slim with relatively quick descending branches, indicating bad seismic behavior. With the high stirrup ratio, the high axial compression ratio and H shape section steel.the specimens show excellent seismic behavior. On the basis of the experimental results, the finite element program ABUQUS is used to simulate the seismic performance of steel reinforced ultra high-strength concrete columns and the numerical simulation results agree well with the experimental results, which verifies the applicability of ABUQUS program for steel reinforced ultra high-strength concrete columns.
