In order to satisfy more and stricter emission standard and economical requests, electronic control is the necessary trend of diesel’s development. At the same time, the individual development for different requirement not only satisfies the performance and economy, but also keeps the sustainable for automobile industry. Meanwhile, it can improve the related industry development.At present, the diesel electric systems were imported from oversea in market at present. The much work for diesel electric technology had been finished by electronic company and research institute in China in order to disturb the monopolized status by external suppliers. There were still many differences in production. So, the diesel control system was developed by China FAW R&D Center based on earlier stage research to improve self development ability and industrialization for diesel electric control system.Firstly, the complete program requirements was put forward for diesel (China emission standard IV) control system in this paper, the composed for electric control system was introduced including sensors, actuators and control units, also reliability proposed for control system, which provided the basis for control software and hardware. The multilayer for software was proposed also, which was composed by hardware layer, vehicle layer and application layer; there were many subsystems in every layer. The torque control, emission control, inject control, diagnosis manager and CAN communication, the control was realized for emission standards. The requirements of complete concept, electronics and mechanical for ECU hardware were proposed to give it to supplier as reference. The test time was much reduced for complex diesel control system by the combined between manual and auto test, and the efficiency and reality for ECU was improved.
