The Study On The Landscape Design Of Leisure Resorts Based On The Recreation Theory

As the natural environment of cities is worsening and traffics jams are becomingmore common, going on vacations gradually becomes the essential part of life insteadof something indispensable. With tourist resort industry being paid more and moreattention in city construction, the landscape form-leisure resort, begins to attractwidespread attention within academic circle. Domestic research towards leisure resortmainly aims at the overall arrangement of environment and ecological protection,however, there are certain limitations. The keys of leisure resort’s development in thefuture contain three aspects, the first one is achieving the combination of resort’slandscape spatial pattern and human being’s behavioral mode, the second is maintainingthe working spirit within the resort, and the last one is comprehensively improving thespatial vitality and regionalism of resorts. Based on the premise mentioned above, thearticle utilizes the principles of the theory of recreation during the process of leisureresort’s designing, carries a research on the landscape modeling and development modeof resorts and discusses the feasible patterns of domestic leisure resort landscapedesigning by regarding theories of environmental psychology and praxiology aspremises at the same time.The article firstly defines and makes spatial analysis towards the concept of leisureresort and then summarizes the weaknesses of domestic resorts by comparing with quitea few foreign cases. Weaknesses include severe homogenization phenomenon, lowrecreation carrying capacity, citizens not being able to interact with environment andirrational utilization of resources. Then the article introduces the concept of RecreationTheory, analyzes three important elements including subject, object and activities ofrecreation and looks for the main factors related to recreation thoughts influencing thelandscape design of leisure resorts by analyzing the demand mechanism of differentresorts. Furthermore, the author brings up methods about how our domestic resortscould do rational planning and landscape layout in the future according to variousrecreation demand and mechanism. Finally, the results of the research are applied togive theoretical guidance to Chaohu Golden Peacock Leisure Resort and brings outbetter strategies towards its development pattern and improvement of recreation quality.The research is regarded to have further impacts on future landscape design.
