Chinese automobile industry is increasing rapidly, which has surpassed the U.S. and became the world’s largest auto market. The automotive industry has become one of Chinese pillar industries. It contributes a lot to Chinese economic development and social progress to produce a significant role and far-reaching impact. As an important part inside the car, automotive fuse box is drawing more and more attention. Automotive fuse box is definitely the key component in automotive electronic control circuit, which is responsible for various parts of the system to convey driver information. Automotive fuse box is a high-tech combined component, therefore need to meet more stringent requirements. An important part of quality supervision inspection process of automotive fuse box is judging whether the fuse plug location is correct. If you plug the wrong fuse can cause extremely serious consequences.In this paper, a machine vision detection method was put forward to develop a LabVIEW-based color-identification-based fuse plug position detection system. Image acquisition In the first place, build a machine vision inspection system to acquire image. Then determine the location of the fuse using chromatography by analyzing the peak position. In order to achieve accurate extraction of test features, the detection method combines the edge detection and feature matching technology for processing and analysis, so that the test results could be stabilize. To design the overall structure in the demand-oriented way, the system mainly include industrial cameras, lenses, light sources, the main chamber of the experimental machine vision system and PC, PLC, external trigger and alarm device components. The system use PCI bus protocol as the communication protocol. Along with a computer or external trigger commands collection and analysis of image processing, the experimental results are displayed and processed.With the aid of the Lab VIEW and Vision module as a development platform, guided by the research goal and the actual requirements of the requirements analysis, we perform the design the overall structure of the system, including the main program, the organization form of file, invoke methods, the function of each experiment program, a graphical user interface, function and design of function module subroutine, etc. In which emphatically introduces the parameters setting, communication, chromatographic peak detection, data processing and reporting. The main technical include PC and PLC communication via Modbus communication protocol, and the generation and management of report files.The experiments prove that the system is stable in industrial field, with a certain degree of adaptability and maneuverability. The test results are accurate and reliable, which is able to meet the testing requirements.
