Along with the continuous construction on existing rail and high-speed rail, rail passenger transportation network has basically taken shape in China and will undertake major passenger transport missions. Meanwhile, people’s living standard has been constantly improved, increasing high demand for punctuality in travel. However, China has a vast territory. Trains operate widely and limited numbers of through trains between stations operate. Passenger transfers are often required for passengers to reach their destinations. That means transfer plays an important role in rail passenger transport. Train diagram is used to organize the rail transport. When diagram deviates from the plan because of various random factors, train dispatching considering passenger transfers will make the need for passenger transfers to the greatest extent and improve the quality of transport services and passenger satisfaction. Based to the existing research results, this thesis researched optimization model of train dispatching plan in a rail network considering passenger transfers. Main work of this thesis can be summarized as follows.(1) For the purpose of deeply understanding the problem, related concepts and characteristics of train dispatching problem were described. Then, this thesis summarized the classification criterias of the nowadays train dispatching problem and defined the key problem that this thesis focuses on. Further, this thesis analyzed and described the main problem to be solved.(2) Aiming at guiding modeling, considering passenger paths and transfer stages, this thesis done passenger subdivision which included levels of origin and destination, routes and transfer stages and built up relationship of train and station sequences on different passenger transfer stages.(3) Based on the level analysis of the model, nodes and resources were used to establish the basic rail network. With the objective of all passenger total delays of arriving destinations, train dispatching optimization model considering sequences of transfer trains re-planning was established. Symbols, objective functions and constraints of the model were described.(4) Aiming at the validating feasibility of the model, the thesis constructed a network containing6stations and used CPLEX soft to build and solve the model. What’s more, the thesis analyzed and compared solving results of different objectives which considered passengers or not. Further, by designing schemes of different number of trains and stations, the thesis analyzed relationship between solving time and train numbers, network scale. Further, for the purpose of validating applicability of the model, the thesis constructed network which has10stations, designed schemes which had different train numbers and made further analysis of solving efficiency and effectiveness of the model.(5) In the end, the thesis designed and developed a display system for showing train dispatching results. The system achieved functions of reading data, displaying train dispatching plan in multi-faceted manner, zoom, editing, exporting and so on.
