With the development of aerospace technology, aircraft structural design demand for the simulation is also growing. Wind tunnel is an indispensable part in the aircraft research, it’s also the most important equipment in the aerodynamic tests. At present most of the aircraft aerodynamic tests are completed in the wind tunnel. Therefore, the performance of the wind tunnel has a great influence on the aircraft research.The most important performance indicator of the wind tunnel is the Mach number, so the control of the Mach number will affect the running efficiency of the whole wind tunnel and the reliability of the aircraft test data, then affecting the design performance of aircraft. In this paper, blow-off type wind tunnel as the main research object, after systematically analyzed the operating principle and the structure of the blow-off type wind tunnel, the performance requirements and the existing problems, using the test modeling method constructs the wind tunnel model. Then based on compared the various control algorithms, the paper introduces adaptive neural network control method, discussing some key problems needed to be resolved in the control, offering the main solutions and carries out the main model simulations. Finally, carrying out the performance analysis.The main work done in this paper:(1) Detailed analysis the development of the wind tunnel Mach number control strategies at domestic and abroad, and some existing problems at present;(2) Proposed building wind tunnel model testing method, and successfully used in wind tunnel modeling;(3) Analyzed advantages and disadvantages of various control methods, designed improved neural network PID controller for blow-off wind tunnel;(4) Solved the difficulty of control caused by the large inertia and delay of wind tunnel system; (5) Running a lot of simulation for various wind working conditions, simulation shows the improved adaptive neural network PID control method is reasonable and effective.
