Strip casting technique is an advanced technique in the iron and steel industry. Several Industrialized countries in the world are devoted to developing strip casting technique. Casting rolls are the core equipments in the strip casting line. Measuring the temperature of the casting rolls precisely and rapidly is related to the safety of casting rolls and the quality of strip; it is very important. But thermocouple can not be used in measuring the temperature of casting rolls. As one kind of non-contact temperature measurement equipment, the infrared temperature measurement can display its own characteristic in the domain that traditional contact temperature measurement method is greatly limited, to satisfy the request of precise and rapid temperature measurement.In order to establish the infrared temperature measurement system, these studies were made:Firstly, research the force-speed control of casting rolls in Baost eel’s pilot strip casting line.Secondly, introduce the main principle of infrared temperature measurement, include:infrared, emissivity, black body, spectral radiant emittance, Planck law, Wien displacement law, Stefan-Boltzmann law, Lambert’s (cosine) law, Kirchhoff law, effective radiation, est.Thirdly, introduce the system structure of infrared temperature measurement system for Baosteel’s pilot strip casting line. Introduce the main parameter of the MP150LT linescanner.Fourthly, establish the communication contact between infrared temperature measurement equipment and infrared temperature measurement computer, and establish the communication contact between infrared temperature measurement equipment and PLC system of Baosteel’s pilot strip casting line. Set the MP150LT linescanner by Configurator ES150from Raytek according to the installation site and the demands of project group of Baosteel’s pilot strip casting line.Fifthly, in view of the characteristic of strip casting line, taking Baosteel’s pilot strip casting line as an example, to develop infrared temperature measurement system by using MP150LT linescanner as temperature collector, to realize real-time monitor the surface temperature of casting rolls by infrared temperature measurement computer, to calculate the heat flow of casting roll with the process data in the PLC system of the strip casting line, to realize exception alarm function with HMI, to collect and analyze all the process data from the PLC system of the strip casting line with Fast Data Acquisition and Analysis(FDAA).Sixthly, to find some factors that impacting the measurement result during the pilot run. To improve the system continuously by researches and experiments, include: determining the correct emissivity, protection of the infrared temperature measurement equipment, eliminating the effect of dust, decreasing the interference of distributor.
