Smart grid ideas proposed by National Grid, Smart meters were going to thousands offamilies, and its reliability influenced the vital interests of each individual. Reliabilityprediction of smart electronic meter is the first step of ensuring the reliability of smart meter,and is the selection base of reliability design for smart meter. Its accuracy determines thequality of reliability design for smart meter, and influences the reliability of smart meter. Wemust pay attention to it.This article referenced extensive literature, and combined the project shared byinstitution and corporation, then researched the methods of reliability prediction of smartmeter made by XJ INSTRUMENT CORPORATION in Henan. The main jobs are as follows.(1) This article introduced the common methods of reliability prediction for embeddedinstrumentation. It compared and analyzed their basic definitions, scopes, operations andprecautions. It also pointed out that component stress method is a suitable method ofreliability prediction for smart electronic meter.(2) On this base of LCC-R, This article established the model named LCC-T. Then thisarticle optimized the model named LCC-T based on the method of Golden Section, anddeveloped the system software to achieve it.(3) According to the function, structure and characteristic of smart electronic meter, thisarticle established the model of reliability block diagram. It predicted the reliability of thesmart electronic meter named DDZY566C-Z based on component stress method and verifiedthe accuracy of prediction in Accelerated life testing. Its ideas, methods and basic data can bereferenced and drew by smart meter companies.(4) On the base of Microsoft Visual Studio2010and Microsoft SQL Server2005system,this article developed the system software for reliability prediction of smart meter, andachieved from manual calculation to computer calculation.
