With the development of the social economy, the durability of concrete structures causedsocial wide attention. The fiber composite material which owns excellent performance (Suchas carbon fiber reinforced composite materials CFRP, glass fiber reinforced composite GFRP,basalt fiber reinforced composite materials BFRP and so on) gets rapid development in civilengineering field. Compared with the steel, the greatest advantage of the fiber compositematerials FRP is high specific strength and good corrosion resistance. In this paper, axialcompression mechanical properties of self-compacting recycled concrete-filled BFRP-PVCtube short columns are studied. The main research contents and results as follows:(1)Thirty self-compacting recycled concrete-filled BFRP-PVC tube short columns andfour self-compacting recycled concrete-filled PVC tube short columns are produced, theselection of materials, the design of the specimen and the loading process are detailedintroduction in this paper.(2)According to the axial compression test of the self-compacting recycled concretefilled BFRP-PVC tube short columns, the impact of different BFRP strip widths, BERP striphoop spacing, BFRP strips-wound area ratios and test column diameters on the ultimatebearing capacity and deformability of the self-compacting recycled concrete filledBFRP-PVC tube short columns is discussed, and the self-compacting recycled concrete-filledBFRP-PVC tube short columns’ working mechanism, failure modes, BFRP constraint effecton concrete and the characteristics of the stress-strain curve are studied.(3)According to the working mechanism and failure pattern of self-compactingrecycled concrete-filled BFRP-PVC tube short columns, the basic assumptions of ultimatebearing capacity of columns are given. In this paper, coefficient of the effective constraintcoefficient and lateral restraint effect of Lam and Teng strength model has been adjusted.Based on the above, the calculation formula of self-compacting recycled concrete-filledBFRP-PVC tube short columns’ ultimate bearing capacity is got. Formula calculation resultswere in good agreement with the experimental data. In the practical application, when the PVCpipe cracked, core concrete structures lost the protection of PVC pipe. Self-compactingrecycled concrete-filled BFRP-PVC tube short columns under axial compression process ofcracking of PVC pipe as a design value has a certain significance.
