With the acceleration of urbanization and expansion of car ownership, the phenomenonof traffic congestion is becoming increasingly prominent and affects the people’s life andtravel seriously. The intersection is one of the main transportation in the urban road and itstraffic efficiency affects the service level of urban road directly. Therefore, improving theintersection capacity is one of the effective measures to reduce the pressure of urban roadtraffic. But the structure layout of reconstruction or expansion can only remit the trafficcongestion in a short period of time. So it must be combined with intelligent control methodof intersection signal timing and can improve effectively traffic efficiency and driving safetyof the intersection or the whole urban road.The paper focuses on the perspective of signal intersection timing control and adopts thefuzzy control theory to research the timing optimization control method of signal intersection.It mainly bases on the operation analysis and makes use of Visual Basic software to developthe signal intersection timing software in the end. At first, the paper introduces specificcontent and application process of the running-analysis approach, explains the principle ofintersection cycle, effective green light time,and split and by adopting the running-analysisapproach, analyses the result of Renmin Street and Yan’an Road intersection in Jinzhou. Thenit puts forward the the fuzzy control theory which is applied to urban intersection signalcontrol research. First, the part introduces the intersection control function and problems andbased on the analysis of necessity on fuzzy control, further intersection fuzzy control methodis proposed. The method considers traffic flow running state of the green phase and the redphase as a whole. This part designs two fuzzy controller, consisting of the green time delayand the phase sequence optimization. The input of the green time delay chooses the maximumdifference of vehicle queue of current phase and other red phase, and the extension time ofcurrent phase as the output; The input of the phase sequence optimization adopts red phasevehicle queue length and the number of phase delay, and the release priority weight of redphase as the output. At last, it designs the visualization software by using Visual Basic andMatlab software, analyses the requirement and feasibility of software and introduces thedesign idea, software modules, the whole analysis process and the meaning of main interfaceresults. The results show that the effect of optimization control is superior to other traditionalmanual timing control.The visual signal intersection control software in the paper could work as aided systemfor the traffic administrative department and has certain reference value for the research.
