Polymer solar cells with low-cost, thin, large-scale production and other advantages can takemore and more people’s attention. This paper describes the history of organic solar cells. The basicstructure and basic principle of the polymer solar cell are analyzed. This paper also describes thecommon equipment. Under the existing experimental conditions. This paper makes the followingresearch:Firstly, The UV-Vis absorption and electrochemical of PCDTBT are studied, which shows thatthe optical band gap is1.88eV. Solar cells based on blends of PCDTBT as the donor and PC61BMas the acceptor are fabricated with different thickness of the active layer. The experiment shows thatthe device with74nm thickness of the active layer is the best.Secondly, Solar cells based on blends of PCDTBT as the donor and PC71BM as the acceptorwith different ratios are fabricated, which shows that the device with PCDTBT/PC71BM (1/3) is thebest, AFM images show that this time the roughness of active layer reduce. At last, The device is fabricated using all kinds of solvents such as ODCB, CF, and mixedsolvent (ODCB/CF) with different ratios. The effects of different solvents are studied on the batteryperformance. The experiments show that appropriate proportion of ODCB/CF(1/1) as a solvent playa positive role in the UV-Vis absorption spectrum and external quantum. Compared with the batteryusing ODCB as a solvent, energy conversion efficiency is increased by42%. AFM images showthat this time there is a better phase separation. The results have a certain significance for improvingthe performance of a photovoltaic device based on a mixed solvent.
