Organic solar cells are one of the hottest studies in the area of the development and utilizationof solar energy. The power conversion efficiency of organic solar cells is still low. And theoreticalresearch on solar cells is helpful to further understand the working mechanism of the device, and tolook for more effective paths of increasing the efficiency.Better optical and electrical theoretical models of organic thin film solar cells are presented inthis paper, as well as the specific numerical processing. Then program in MATLAB software torealize the two models.With optical simulation module, active layer thickness impacting on the optical performance ofthe device is discussed. At the same time, multilayer high reflectance films are used to constitute akind of light trapping structure. And its reflective feature is simulated to choose its layers. Inaddition, optical performance of inverted organic solar cells with coating high reflectance films issimulated and analyzed.Verify the electrical simulation module. Based on it, inner parameters’ distribution atshort-circuits and open-circuit conditions are discussed. Further active layer thickness, carriers’mobility and excitons generation rate impacting on the device’s performance, are discussed. Thenumerical relation between the internal parameters and the performance of the device is expounded.Based on the theoretical model, simulation modules are built. Optical performance andelectrical performance of inverted organic solar cells are simulated and researched. It has a certainguiding significance to device working mechanism and performance optimization approach.
